Formchime Themes

Astro themes · pay once · launching soon · $29 launch price

Two themes. Each does one job well.

Not a giant pass full of look-alike templates. A product site for browser extensions and a website for research labs — with the pages those people actually need.

Real code, not filler

Niche pages

The permissions explainer is rendered from config, so reviewers and users read the same table.

src/site.config.ts
permissions: [
  { id: 'tabs',
    why: 'Read tab titles to build
          the local search index.',
    never: 'Transmit your history.' },
]

Publications from BibTeX

Drop in your .bib file. Members are underlined, awards and links rendered at build time.

src/data/publications.bib
@inproceedings{chen2026tidenet,
  title  = {TideNet: ...},
  author = {Chen, Wei-Ting and ...},
  award  = {Best Paper Award},
  code   = {https://...},
  selected = {true}
}

Questions

How do I get the code?

After checkout, Polar invites your GitHub account to a private repository. You’ll get an invite from the smallbench-labs GitHub organization (that’s us). Clone it and run npm install. If you get a refund, access is removed automatically.

Do I need to know Astro?

Not much. Content lives in Markdown, one data file and one .bib file. Each repo ships an AGENTS.md and Cursor rules, so an AI editor can make changes safely.

Is there a free version?

Yes. Each theme has an MIT-licensed one-page Lite version, so you can check the code quality before you buy.

Can I buy from Japan?

Checkout isn’t available in Japan.

Refunds?

Refunds within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked — email support@formchime.com. Your repo access is removed when the refund is issued.

How long do I get updates?

Updates for 12 months; the code is yours forever.

Which Astro version?

Astro 7 and Tailwind CSS 4, Node 22. Zero framework JavaScript — the only script toggles dark mode.

Write a permissions explainer before the Chrome Web Store asks for one

Reviewers and users want the same thing — a plain sentence for every permission. Here is the table format we ship in Extension Kit.

Your lab's publication list should be a BibTeX file

Hand-edited HTML publication pages drift. One .bib file, parsed at build time, keeps the website as accurate as your CV.
